Hanna Reitsch
Hanna was the first women to win a captain's license, the first female helicopter pilot, and became the first test pilot in Germany. She did everything but fly in military missions. She was the first female to receive the Iron Cross award in her country. She was the very first person to fly a glider over the Alps. She was one of the last people that saw Hitler alive in the Berlin bunker. She was caught by the United States and was interned for 15 months. She set many records for motorized and powerless flights. She was an outstanding member of her military and represented women
well.

Elsie S. Ott was an Army Nurse. However in an emergency event was put in the position to be an air evacuation flight nurse. She had no experience of being a nurse on a flight. She had never been trained in air evacuation but knew it was her duty to help soldiers in need. In the six day flight she helped many in need. She was the first female to receive an Air Metal and also received formal aircraft training.
